Daylight saving time ends in 2011 the United States Sunday, November 6. Before going to bed on Saturday, November 5, people will tell you to turn your clocks back one hour ("spring forward, fall back") and therefore get an hour of sleep.

Daylight actually ends on October 30 in the United Kingdom and other countries, but the date was later launched in the U.S. in 2007. The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005 changed the start of daylight saving time for the second Sunday in March from the first Sunday in April, and extended the completion date for a week.
But why? What is the summer time, and why have it?

As shown in the I-Am-Bored, this long video, but education is not surprising that takes you through the history of DST, first proposed by George Hudson proposal in 1885 to give people more sunlight in the summer. The narrator covers the confusion of the time gained / lost causes, and modern discussions suggest that the technology (air conditioning, TV, video games, smart phones) has exceeded our need to keep changing our clocks.

Some studies say DST now costs more electricity with the time change, while others suggest that saves - but both agree that the difference is minimal, cost or savings of less than 1 percent (or $ 4) per household .
Perhaps most interesting to learn is that most of the world does not make any changes to their watches throughout the year and two states in the U.S. also do not recognize daylight saving time. According to the video, Arizona and Hawaii to ignore the clock change due to excessive sunlight throughout the year. The same is true for U.S. Territories of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands.

And finally, did you know that "Summer Time" which is technically known as summer time, without the plural? Crazy!
