Hip hop, Heavy D has died today (November 8) at the young age of 44 years. The "Now that we found Love" singer was known for his work on the R & B scene, but born in Jamaica, Heavy D was a known quantity of the screen too. In fact, his work as an actor can be seen as recently as "Tower Heist," Brett Ratner film, directed by and starring Eddie Murphy's comedy currently playing in theaters.
In honor of D heavy, take a look at some of the most memorable turns of the artist on the big screen.
"Life"
It is logical that one of the early strengths D's screen has a strong bond with his bow end: he starred in the 1999 comedy "Life," with future "Tower Heist" co-star Eddie Murphy. The film was also produced by "Heist," producer Brian Grazer. D starred in "Life", along with a who's who of comedians, including Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Anthony Anderson and Bernie Mac
"The Cider House Rules"
Heavy personality and presence easily lend itself to comedy, but it was not alien to the fee awarded either: Peaches played in "The Cider House Rules", the 1999 Oscar contender on the connection of a youth in an orphanage during the World War II.
"Boston Public"
Heavy D had a presence that act on the small screen as well as the largest. He had a recurring role in the high school drama Fox's "Boston Public" as Bob "Big Boy" Lick, school counselor compassionate guidance. D appeared in 13 episodes of the television series from 2000 to 2003.
"Hitch"
OK, OK, so Mr. D was not really in this comedy, but "Now that we found love," provided the musical tapestry in which Will Smith and Kevin James danced in the final scene of the wedding. We try, we can not hate "Hitch." And we will always dig rap 90.
"Tower Heist"
His last appearance was brief, but memorable: Heavy D had a cameo in "Tower Heist" this past weekend as a courthouse guard. Nothing too fancy, but was surrounded by great players and partners in the previous final film effort.
