"Only just started to think about tomorrow, but in reality it will be fun to think about it now, because there is a Game 7," he said. "You can only shoot Jake (Westbrook) back out there. Who knows?"
In Texas, Ron Washington made his decision a few days ago, announcing he would stay in the rotation and start Matt Harrison, Game 3 loser. Washington could have gone with the Game 4 winner Derek Holland or a break in the middle as CJ Wilson on short rest.
"Harrison has been a big part of this team throughout the year," said Washington. "I'm not changing the things I've been doing all year."
The absence of eight years of best baseball game is the longest since World Series began in 1903. The Cardinals hold the record for most Game 7s World Series, going 7-3.
When a seventh game was last played in 2002, John Lackey pitched five innings of one hit ball to lead the Anaheim Angels over San Francisco Giants 4-1, completing a comeback from a 3-2 disadvantage of the series. Girl Lackey Adams joined the Pittsburgh Pirates 1909 as holders only rookie to win a seventh game, and the Angels became the eighth team to win at home straight Game 7 since the victory of Pittsburgh, "We Are Family "Baltimore team in 1979.
