LONDON (AP) - The truth is out there: Prince Charles is related to Vlad the Impaler.
The heir to the throne says he is related to Vlad the Impaler, the cruel warlord of the 15th century Romanian helped inspire Bram Stoker's 1897 vampire novel "Dracula."
He made the comments in an upcoming television show to promote his interest in the protection of forests in the Romanian region of Transylvania.
Charles says genealogy shows that he is related to Vlad, giving it a stake in the future of Romania. The Prince has worked hard to conserve forests and has bought a house in the region.
On a visit to Romania earlier this year, called a national treasure Transylvania for its natural landscape and rural agricultural traditions of centuries.
