Earthquake occurred Thursday at 05:37 AM local time (thirty-seven past one p.m. GMT) at a depth of 9.7 km (6.0 miles), according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The epicenter was located on the campus of the University of California at Berkeley, about 4 km (3 miles) ESE (118 °) from Albany, 4 km (3 miles) SSE (147 °) of Kensington, just 9 km ( 6 miles) NNW (347 °) from Oakland.
